Variant 1
Applies to: BCI2 (BWE)
What does Scania BCI fault code 699 mean?
The BIC program has reduced functionality because an input or input signal used in the program is being interpreted incorrectly.
What causes Scania DTC 699?
There is a fault with an input or a signal in the BIC program. The fault may be due to issues in the CAN communication.
How does the system react?
The functionality in the BIC program that is affected by the fault will not be available. A yellow warning message regarding BWE is shown in the instrument cluster.
How to fix Scania BCI fault code 699?
- Run the Checking the BIC program wizard and search for the degraded/switched off logic diagram.
- If the fault code is active, the fault code symbol is also displayed in BICT in front of the faulty logic diagram.
- If the fault code is inactive, the fault that caused the fault code in the logic diagram is marked with a symbol which indicates that there is saved data from the date when the fault occurred.
- Via More information in BICT, you can then see the signal status of all signals in the logic diagram when the fault occurred.
- Find out which pin or which signal is faulty.
- Look for fault codes in all systems which agree with the faulty signal or input and carry out any necessary actions.
- Once the current fault code has been rectified, a reset with the starter lock must be carried out to deactivate the fault code.
Variant 2
Applies to: BCI3 (BWE)
