The control unit has interpreted that there is a short circuit to 24 volt voltage or an open circuit on the control signals to the contactor.

What causes Scania DTC 3159?

- Short circuit to 24 V on cable harnesses, connections or contactor control signals. - Open circuit to the contactor.

How does the system react?

- The propulsion battery cannot connect. - A yellow warning indication is displayed.

How to fix Scania BMU fault code 3159?

  1. Important!
  2. The fault indicates that the propulsion battery classification is category 3: Damaged.
  3. It is not dangerous to handle.
  4. Check cable harness and contacts to the contactor.
  5. Renew the contactor.
