What does Scania COO fault code 695 mean?
The BMS control unit does not support the external braking request.
What causes Scania DTC 695?
The fault may be due to: - The coordinator is programmed for a vehicle with AICC, but the vehicle does not have AICC. - The BMS control unit is not programmed for a vehicle with AICC. - A BMS control unit with software which does not support the external braking request is installed.
What are the symptoms?
The AICC function does not work. Advanced emergency braking is inoperative, but collision warnings are still active. A message is displayed in the instrument cluster that the function is degraded.
How to fix Scania COO fault code 695?
- Check the programming of the coordinator.
- Spare parts program the coordinator if necessary.
- Check the programming of the BMS control unit.
- Spare parts program the BMS control unit if necessary.
- Check whether the BMS control unit has generated any fault codes.
- Check the part number of the BMS control unit and renew the BMS control unit if it does not support the external braking request.
Variant 2: BMS control unit, configuration error

Detection
The BMS control system does not support external brake requests.
Possible cause
- Configuration error in the coordinator, incorrect configuration for vehicles with adaptive cruise control. - Configuration error in the BMS control unit, incorrect configuration for vehicles without adaptive cruise control. - The BMS control unit has outdated software installed, which is not compatible with external brake requests.
System reaction
Adaptive cruise control is prevented. An error message regarding adaptive cruise control is shown in the driver display. Automatic braking is prevented. An error message regarding automatic braking is shown in the driver display.
How to fix
- Spare part program the coordinator.
- Spare part program the BMS control unit.
- Check and rectify fault codes from the BMS control unit.
- Check the BMS control unit part number.
- If the BMS control unit software is not compatible with the external brake request, renew the BMS control unit.
Variant 3: BMS control unit, configuration error
