What does Scania DCU fault code 1296 mean?
The control unit has interpreted an internal communication error in the control unit.
What causes Scania DTC 1296?
- Internal fault in the control unit. - Electromagnetic interference.
What are the symptoms?
The system does not work at all or works in an unpredictable way. If symptoms do not appear, it may be because the control unit has recovered after electromagnetic interference.
How to fix Scania DCU fault code 1296?
- If the fault persists, restart the DCU control unit by interrupting the voltage supply to the DCU unit for 30 seconds.
- Check to see if the fault code recurs.
- If the fault code is activated 1-5 times, no action is needed.
- Renew the control unit if the fault code is repeated more than 5 times.
