What does Scania EAS fault code 799232 mean?
The control unit's internal temperature is over 200°C.
What causes Scania DTC 799232?
- Control unit overheated. - Internal fault in the control unit.
How does the system react?
- Yellow warning indication of an electrically assisted steering fault is displayed. - The torque for the electric motor for electrically assisted steering is limited.
What are the symptoms?
The steering feels sluggish due to degraded functions for steering assistance.
How to fix Scania EAS fault code 799232?
- Turn off the 15 voltage with the starter key and let the control unit cool down to below 200°C.
- Turn on the 15 voltage with the starter key.
- If the fault code is active, renew the control unit, including the electric motor.
Variant 2: Motor moment reduction during high temperatures in ECU
Applies to: EAS2
Detection
Internal ECU error. The DTC will set during the following condition: 1.System state: DriveDown, DriveUp, LowVolt. 2.System voltage is above 6v. 3.System voltage is below 42v.
Possible cause
1. Defective powerpack. 2. Motor temperature >= 200°C.
System reaction
Set the Yellow Lamp to "On". DTC not affected ASM functionality, ASM functionality active with reduction.
Symptoms
The driver detects the following: Degradation of EPS motor torque depending on the temperature characteristic values.
How to fix
- Step-1: Switch-Off the ECU.
- Step-2: Let the ECU cool-down until the motor temperature is less than 200°C.
- Step-3: Power-on the ECU.
- Step-4: Replace the powerpack if the SPN is still active.
