What does Scania EMS fault code 1069 mean?
There is a short circuit to battery or open circuit in the exhaust gas temperature sensor.
What causes Scania DTC 1069?
The exhaust gas temperature sensor downstream of the SCR catalytic converter has an open circuit.
How does the system react?
The fault results in reduced reductant consumption. The fault affects the engine's nitrous oxide emissions. Depending on the emission class, the fault results in torque reduction, speed limitation and a warning lamp.
How to fix Scania EMS fault code 1069?
- Check harness-to-harness connector and cable harness for the exhaust gas temperature sensor.
- Measure the resistance of the exhaust gas temperature sensor.
- At 10 – 30°C the resistance should be 207 – 222 ohms.
- Note: The exhaust gas temperature sensor is fragile.
- Handle with care.
- Check that the fault has been rectified:
- Switch off the engine.
- Wait until the button for the hazard warning signal has been extinguished.
- Start the engine.
- Check that the fault code has been deactivated.
- Clear the fault code.
- Switch the engine off and on 3 times to turn off the emissions warning lamp.
- Wait until the hazard warning signal button has been extinguished between each turn.
