Fault in the coolant temperature sensor, its harness-to-component connectors or cable harness.

How does the system react?

The engine power is reduced. The fault code cannot be deleted when it is active.

How to fix Scania EMS fault code 278?

  1. Check the circuit components, harness-to-component connectors and electrical cables.
  2. Note: Always run Checking the EGR circuit to verify that the fault has been rectified when this fault code has been generated.
  3. This check is available through SDP3.
