What does Scania MGU fault code 4608 mean?

Fault in the position sensor for the electric machine circuit.

What causes Scania DTC 4608?

- Fault in the position sensor for the electric machine or its connectors and cable harness. - The position sensor for the electric machine is incorrectly fitted.

How does the system react?

- Yellow warning indication of an electric drive system fault is displayed. - No electric drive is possible.

What are the symptoms?

- Impaired performance when driving off. - Impaired performance when changing gears.

How to fix Scania MGU fault code 4608?

  1. Check the position sensor for the electric machine and its connectors and cable harness.
  2. If the fault is recurrent, remove the gearbox from the vehicle and check the electric machine position sensor cable harness inside the gearbox.
  3. Renew the position sensor for the electric machine if the fault recurs even though it is fitted correctly and the cable harness and connectors are intact and clean.
  4. When renewing the position sensor for the electric machine, run Calibrating electric machine rotor position.
