What does Scania OCE fault code 170240 mean?
The charge air pressure is lower than expected.
What causes Scania DTC 170240?
- The wastegate valve is jammed in the open position. - The charge air cooler is blocked with ice or water, for example. - Fault on the charge air pressure sensor T166. - Leakage in the intake system downstream of the turbocharger. - Leakage on the exhaust side upstream of the turbocharger. - Blocked air filter.
How does the system react?
A yellow warning indication is displayed.
What are the symptoms?
Can affect engine performance.
How to fix Scania OCE fault code 170240?
- Check the wastegate valve.
- Check that the charge air cooler is intact and clean.
- Check charge air pressure sensor T166 and also the harness-to-harness connectors and cable harness.
- Check the pressure sensor.
- Carry out a leak test on the intake system and exhaust side.
- Check the dump valve.
- Check the air filter.
- Drain radiator of water if necessary.
- Recommend radiator blind at temperatures below 5°C.
- Note: After clearing the fault codes the voltage must be switched off for approximately 1 minute so that the pressure sensors adapt.
