What does Scania RET fault code 20040 mean?
Oil pressure too low when retarder requested.
What causes Scania DTC 20040?
The quantity of oil may be too low. Components or cable harnesses may be defective.
How does the system react?
There is no retarder braking via the brake pedal on the EBS system. The green retarder lamp is not displayed in the instrument cluster.
How to fix Scania RET fault code 20040?
- Check the quantity of oil, oil pressure sensor, harness-to-harness connectors, cable harness, solenoid valves and proportional valve.
- For Retarder 1: If the fault code has only been generated on a few isolated occasions, and the driver has not noticed any problems with the vehicle, clear the fault code.
