What does Scania COO fault code 23 mean?

The signals from the accelerator pedal sensor and the brake pedal sensor have been implausible in relation to each other.

What causes Scania DTC 23?

The accelerator and brake pedals have been depressed simultaneously. This may be because the accelerator pedal is jammed or its return spring is broken. Under exceptional circumstances, the fault code may have been generated because of a fault in the cable harness or because of an internal fault in one of the pedal sensors.

How does the system react?

As long as the fault is active, there is a risk that the engine will not return to idling speed when the accelerator pedal is released.

How to fix Scania COO fault code 23?

  1. First check that there is 0% throttle actuation when the accelerator pedal is released.
  2. Then go on to check that when the brake pedal is released the brake signal is inactive.
  3. Check, if necessary, both pedal sensors and their wiring including harness-to-harness connectors.
