What does Scania DCS fault code 1048598 mean?
The background lighting in the driver’s door L170 is short-circuited to ground or supply voltage.

- Fault in harness-to-component connectors or cable harness of the background lighting in the driver's door L170. - Fault in the background lighting in the driver’s door L170.
What are the symptoms?
The background lighting is not working.
How to fix Scania DCS fault code 1048598?
- Disconnect the background lighting in the driver’s door L170.
- Note whether a new fault code for an open circuit is set.
- If this is the case, the fault is probably in the component.
- Measure on the pins in the nearest harness-to-component connector leading to control unit pins A4 (voltage) and A9 (ground).
- Disconnect the harness-to-component connector on the control unit.
- Measure for short circuits throughout the cable harness.
- If there are several harness-to-component connectors between the component and the control unit, also measure these to locate the fault.
- If the fault is not in the cable harness or the component, it is probably an internal fault in the control unit.
