What does Scania DCS fault code 1048599 mean?
The boarding step lighting in the driver's door L32 is short-circuited to ground or supply voltage.
What causes Scania DTC 1048599?
- Fault in harness-to-component connectors or cable harness of the boarding step lighting L32. - Fault in the boarding step lighting L32.
What are the symptoms?
The boarding step lighting is not working.
How to fix Scania DCS fault code 1048599?
- Disconnect the boarding step lighting L32.
- Note whether a new fault code for an open circuit is set.
- If this is the case, the fault is probably in the components.
- Measure on the pins in the nearest harness-to-component connector leading to control unit pins A5 (voltage) and A9 (ground).
- Disconnect the harness-to-component connector on the control unit.
- Measure for short circuits throughout the cable harness.
- If there are several connectors between the components and the control unit, then also measure these to locate the fault.
- If the fault is not in the cable harness or in the components, it is probably an internal fault in the electronic control unit.
