Scania EMD DTC 5876 NOx sensor T131 upstream of the SCR catalytic converter

EMD EMD control unit · Scania

Code 5876 (decimal). Some diagnostic tools show it in hexadecimal as 16F4.

In short

NOx sensor T131 upstream of the SCR catalytic converter indicates a value which is too low.

Applies to: EMD0EMD1

What does Scania EMD fault code 5876 mean?

NOx sensor T131 upstream of the SCR catalytic converter indicates a value which is too low.

What causes Scania DTC 5876?

- The NOx sensor is fitted outside the exhaust flow. - Fault in the NOx sensor. - Fault in the measurement of the gas flow. - Incorrect quantity of fuel injected.

How does the system react?

The fault affects the engine's nitrous oxide emissions. Depending on the emission class, this may result in torque reduction, speed limitation and a warning indication.

How to fix Scania EMD fault code 5876?

  1. Check EMS fault codes related to charge air pressure and fuel.
