What does Scania EMD fault code 5879 mean?
Adaptation of the differential pressure sensor is not occurring correctly.
What causes Scania DTC 5879?
- All control units have not had time to close down before the system has been switched off using the battery master switch. - Active fault codes related to sensors and actuators which are used to measure exhaust gas flow.
How does the system react?
Adaptation of the differential pressure sensor is not running, which can lead to the engine control unit calculating an incorrect particulate filter soot level.
How to fix Scania EMD fault code 5879?
- Check and rectify active fault codes related to: - injectors - intake air pressure and temperature - charge air pressure and charge air temperature - exhaust gas pressure - engine speed.
- If there are no active fault codes, encourage the driver not to shut down the system using the battery master switch as long as the hazard warning lamp is on.
