What does Scania EMO fault code 4615 mean?
The engine speed does not fall even though the engine is switched off. There is no fuel request, the engine is disengaged and the starter key is in the lock position, but the engine speed still does not fall.
What causes Scania DTC 4615?
- Oil leaks in the intake system from the turbocharger or crankcase ventilation. - Fuel leak from one or more injectors to the cylinders.
How does the system react?
Provides torque reduction and a red engine warning indication is displayed. The exhaust brake is activated and tries to force down the engine speed to 1,300 rpm. If this is not successful, the throttle will also be used to reduce the engine speed. During this time, it is not possible to request torque. The fault continues to be active until the engine is stationary.
How to fix Scania EMO fault code 4615?
- Check whether there is oil in the intake system.
- Check the oil level and oil quality.
- If the oil level is high or the oil contains large amounts of diesel, it is probably leakage from the injectors.
- Run Plug test – checking for internal leakage using the starter motor.
