What does Scania EMS fault code 387 mean?
The control unit has detected an abnormal voltage, indicating a break in the circuit or that the fuel temperature sensor has a short circuit to the voltage supply.
How to fix Scania EMS fault code 387?
- Check the fuel temperature sensor cable harness and harness-to-component connector.
- Renew the fuel temperature sensor.

Detection
The voltage in the circuit has been above the permitted level.
Possible cause
Possible causes are: - Open circuit in the fuel temperature sensor circuit. - Fault in the oil pressure sensor circuit or mass flow sensor circuit.
System reaction
There is a common voltage supply for the fuel temperature sensor, oil pressure sensor and mass flow sensor. If a fault occurs in one of the sensors, the other sensor circuits may be affected. If the voltage is outside the permitted range, the control unit uses a pre-programmed value.
How to fix
Check the fuel temperature sensor, oil pressure sensor and mass flow sensor, along with the harness-to-harness connectors and electrical cables in the circuits.
