What does Scania EMS fault code 58880 mean?
Emergency stop button has been used.
What causes Scania DTC 58880?
The emergency shutdown switch is depressed (grounded).
How does the system react?
If the vehicle is stationary, the engine is switched off. If the vehicle is moving, this will result in 0% throttle actuation and normal idling speed as long as the fault is active. This allows the continued use of power steering etc. The cruise control is disengaged and cannot be activated as long as this fault is active. The fault is no longer active as soon as the emergency shutdown switch is reset.
