What does Scania EMU fault code 4096 mean?
The control unit gives an implausibly low voltage on the input signal, which indicates a short circuit to earth.
What causes Scania DTC 4096?
- Fault in cable harness or connector. - Fault in the temperature sensor. - Fault in control unit E159.
How does the system react?
- A yellow warning indication is displayed. - Heater B H40 is switched off. - Valve V238 will not open.
What are the symptoms?
- Higher energy consumption. - Reduced range. - Can lead to performance issues in cold climates. - The fans are running at an unnecessary frequency.
How to fix Scania EMU fault code 4096?
- Check the temperature sensor, connector and cable harness.
- Change the temperature sensor, contactor or wiring harness to the sensor.
- Replace control unit E159.
