What does Scania MBS fault code 796 mean?
The control unit interprets that there is a break in the circuit to the sensor for the cover, centre front. The voltage supply on the pin from the sensor is 12 V.
What causes Scania DTC 796?
- Damage or fault in the cable harness. - The sensor is not connected. - Fault in the sensor. - Parameters set incorrectly. - Voltage supply to the sensor missing.
How does the system react?
An error message in the instrument cluster indicates that the hatch is open.
What are the symptoms?
The bus stop brake may remain applied or engine start may be prevented because the sensor indicates that the hatch is open.

- Check the cable harness and harness-to-component connector to the sensor.
- Check the sensor.
