What does Scania MBS fault code 792 mean?
The CAN signal from the BCI control unit before disconnection of the battery results in an error message.
What causes Scania DTC 792?
The CAN signal in the chassis control system (CMS) may be short-circuited to battery voltage.
How does the system react?
The electrical system for bus body does not shut down correctly because the connector for the battery's power relay has interrupted the voltage supply. The following functions dependent on the CAN signal are affected: - Information on the starter lock voltage status. - Accessory mode. - Wake-up signal for the BCI control unit.
What are the symptoms?
- The doors work even though the connector for the battery's power relay has interrupted the voltage supply. The vehicle does not receive a signal about future current loss. - Certain functions related to emergency mode do not work correctly, such as making the doors powerless and activation of the emergency lighting.
How to fix Scania MBS fault code 792?
- Check and rectify fault codes in the chassis that could prevent CAN communication.
- If there are more fault codes for CAN communication, check the following:
- CAN bus cable harness and harness-to-component connector on both sides of the bodywork electrical system (BCI).
- Check the electric power supply to the CAN bus.
