What does Scania OPC fault code 14073 mean?
No movement to high split. Only generated if the vehicle is in motion and with sufficient air pressure.
What causes Scania DTC 14073?
- Fault in the splitter gear position sensor. - The high split solenoid valve in the solenoid valve block is defective. - Poorly greased and sealed splitter gear pneumatic cylinder. - The low split solenoid valve is stuck in the open position. - Incomplete solenoid valve block venting. - Air leakage in the seal between the solenoid valve block and pneumatic cylinder for the splitter gear. - Internal fault in the gearbox: - The coupling sleeve cannot disengage and prevents movement. - Bent split shaft.
How does the system react?
The system cannot disengage the current splitter gear or does not acknowledge the split gear change.
How to fix Scania OPC fault code 14073?
- Check the splitter gear position sensor.
- For GRSO: check the iron pin in the splitter gear position sensor.
- Check that the solenoid valve for high split is working.
- Check the seal and lubrication of the splitter gear pneumatic cylinder.
- Check that the solenoid valve for low split is working.
- Check that the solenoid valve block venting is working.
- Check the seal between the solenoid valve block and the splitter gear pneumatic cylinder.
- If the fault persists, check the inner components of the gearbox:
- Check that the coupling sleeve can move freely and check the surrounding high split components on the split shaft.
- Check that the split shaft is straight.
- Check the gear position latch by hand.
- Check the attachment of the gear shift fork on the gear shift shaft.
- Check to see if there is an unusual amount of wear to the selector fork pin and synchromesh.
