What does Scania APS fault code 1503461 mean?
Open circuit in the compressor relief solenoid valve.
What causes Scania DTC 1503461?
Open circuit in solenoid valve or circuit board. Bad contact in the solenoid valve connection.
How does the system react?
When the fault is active, the system operates in alternative relief mode. If a fault is detected in the solenoid valve, which normally adjusts the compressor, the control unit adjusts the regeneration valve in order to control the system pressure. Because the compressor cannot be switched off during relief, the entire air flow from the compressor will be removed via the open regeneration valve in vehicles with the advanced version. For vehicles with the high capacity version, only the regenerated air flow will be removed. For both versions, regeneration will continue throughout the time relief mode is active. Pressure can still be measured and distributed. The following may be affected: - The compressor cannot be switched off. - No pressure drop during regeneration. - Self-diagnosis of sensors.
How to fix Scania APS fault code 1503461?
- Check the connections for the control unit and solenoid valves.
- Measure the resistance of the solenoid valve.
- The resistance should be approximately 11.4 ohms.
- If you did not find a fault on the connections or the solenoid valve, renew the APS control unit.
- Clear the fault code.
