What causes Scania DTC 664?

One or more cell monitoring circuit boards on a battery module are overloaded and cause high temperature in the circuit.

How does the system react?

- There is no measurement of cell voltage or temperature. As a result, an emergency shutdown of the electric drive system occurs. - Risk of VOR. The electric drive system stops working because the propulsion battery is not available. Direct current converter E84 (DCC) is not supplied with voltage class B and the 24 V system will drain the 24 V batteries. - Yellow warning indication of an electric drive system fault is displayed.

What are the symptoms?

If the vehicle has multiple propulsion batteries: - The contactors cannot be closed on the relevant propulsion battery. - The vehicle's total battery capacity and range are reduced. If the vehicle has only one propulsion battery: - VOR. - Electric drive of the vehicle is not possible. - The vehicle's 24 V voltage is turned off. - No charge is possible.

How to fix Scania BMU fault code 664?

  1. Restarting the vehicle.
  2. If the fault code does not disappear:
  3. Check fault codes in the IBU system.
  4. Identify the battery module that has a problem with the cell monitoring circuit board.
  5. Renew the battery module.
  6. Renew the propulsion battery.
  7. When renewing the propulsion battery, run Calibrating propulsion battery information.
