What does Scania DAS fault code 868 mean?
Implausible signal from the forward looking camera.
What causes Scania DTC 868?
The fault may be due to: - Internal fault in the forward looking camera (FLC). - The forward looking camera has not undergone spare parts programming for the vehicle or is not calibrated. - The driver assistance system control unit has not undergone spare parts programming for the vehicle. - Forward looking camera is not correctly connected or has an interruption in CAN communication.
How does the system react?
- The lane departure warning is inoperative. - Advanced emergency braking and adaptive cruise control has impaired functionality.
How to fix Scania DAS fault code 868?
- Check the fault codes in the forward looking camera.
- If the fault codes cannot be read:
- Check the CAN connection for the forward looking camera.
- Check the supply voltage to the forward looking camera.
- Measure the resistance between the control unit pin for the CAN bus CAN High and CAN Low with the battery disconnected.
- Resistance should be around 60 ohms.
- (Due to the two termination resistors connected in parallel.)
- Measure the resistance between the control unit pin for CAN high of the CAN bus and voltage with the battery disconnected.
- Resistance should be in the order of Megaohms.
- Measure the resistance between the control unit pin for CAN low of the CAN bus and ground with the battery disconnected.
- Resistance should be in the order of Megaohms.
- Disconnect one control unit at a time from the CAN bus concerned to see whether the fault disappears.
