The voltage has been outside the allowed range.

What causes Scania DTC 23583?

Short circuit, which may be due to: - Damaged cable harness. - Faulty trailer control module. - Faulty control unit.

How does the system react?

The yellow warning lamp comes on and the electronically controlled user functions for the trailer are switched off.

How to fix Scania EBS fault code 23583?

  1. Clear the fault code.
  2. Check the connections and cable harness between the control unit and the trailer control module.
  3. Disconnect the trailer control module from the control unit.
  4. Measure between pins D5 and D7 and between pins D6 and D7 for a short circuit.
  5. Connect the trailer control module and measure again.
