What does Scania EBS fault code 23588 mean?

The voltage has been outside the allowed range.

What causes Scania DTC 23588?

Open circuit or short circuit to ground, which may be due to: - Damaged cable harness. - Faulty trailer control module. - Faulty control unit.

How does the system react?

The yellow warning lamp comes on and the electronically controlled user functions for the trailer are switched off.

How to fix Scania EBS fault code 23588?

  1. Clear the fault code.
  2. Check connections and cable harness between the control unit and the trailer control module for a short circuit or open circuit to earth.
  3. Disconnect the trailer control module from the control unit.
  4. Check that there is no open circuit on the cable harness between the trailer control module and the control unit.
  5. Check that pin D7 is not short circuited to pin A11, pin A12 or chassis earth.
  6. Measure the resistance between the trailer control module pin for the backup valve, D7 and supply, pin D4.
  7. The resistance should be approx.
  8. 11 ohms.
