What does Scania EBS fault code 23831 mean?

The voltage has been higher than permissible, above 4.75 V.

What causes Scania DTC 23831?

- Damaged cable harness. - Faulty trailer control module. - Faulty control unit.

How does the system react?

The yellow warning lamp comes on and the electronically controlled user functions for the trailer are switched off.

How to fix Scania EBS fault code 23831?

  1. Clear the fault code.
  2. Check the connections and cable harness between the trailer control module and control unit.
  3. Check that the supply pressure to the trailer control module does not exceed 8.5 bar and that the connection on the trailer control module is not faulty.
  4. Disconnect harness-to-component connector D from the control unit and measure the voltage on the control unit.
  5. Between pin A12 and pin D1: 4.5 – 5.5 V.
  6. Between pin A12 and pin D3: 0 V
  7. Between pin A12 and pin D2: 0 V
  8. If no fault is detected in the cable harness or the connections and the supply is correct, the fault is in the trailer control module.
