What does Scania EBS fault code 24135 mean?

The pressure sensor detects that there is brake pressure to the trailer control module when the vehicle is not braked.

What causes Scania DTC 24135?

- The silencer of the trailer control module is blocked. - Leakage in the service brake module. - Leakage in the trailer control module intake valve.

How does the system react?

The yellow warning lamp comes on and the electronically controlled user functions for the trailer are switched off. A symbol with a message "EBS check-Press-brake pedal" appears in the instrument cluster.

How to fix Scania EBS fault code 24135?

  1. Check whether the trailer control module silencer is blocked.
  2. Check backup pressure (42) without applying the brakes.
  3. If there is pressure, check that the service brake module is correctly fitted and works properly.
  4. If the fault persists when the above has been checked, check the trailer control module.
  5. To aid in troubleshooting, use the service information in Scania Multi: 10:00-02, EBS5, Troubleshooting.
  6. To verify that the fault has been rectified The fault code remains active until the control unit has verified that the fault has been rectified.
  7. NOTE: Brake system pressure must be at least 10 bar.
  8. It is important that the battery is fully charged for the verification to be successful; in the event of problems test with the engine running.
  9. The parking brake must be released and the vehicle secured to keep it stationary.
  10. Switch the voltage off, wait 5 seconds and switch it back on again to reset the control unit.
  11. NOTE: The control unit is not reset if the brake pedal is depressed when the voltage is switched off and on.
  12. Wait for 7 seconds.
  13. Press down the brake pedal fully.
  14. Hold the pedal down for at least 3 seconds.
  15. Release the brake pedal.
  16. Keep the brake pedal released for at least 3 seconds.
  17. When the system detects that everything is operating correctly, the symbol in the instrument cluster will go out and the fault code becomes inactive.
