What causes Scania DTC 5639?

The engine control unit is defective or was exposed to electromagnetic induction (EMC)

How does the system react?

The vehicle cannot be started or driven as long as the fault is active. The control system cuts off the fuel supply to the injectors.

How to fix Scania EMD fault code 5639?

  1. Clear the fault code memory and:
  2. Turn off the power with the starter key.
  3. Wait one minute.
  4. Switch on the voltage with the starter key.
  5. Repeat this five times.
  6. If the fault code recurs, renew the control unit.
