What does Scania EME fault code 403 mean?
The voltage in the circuit has been higher than normal.
What causes Scania DTC 403?
Short circuit to battery voltage or contact with ground lost.
How does the system react?
The engine management system is switched off and the engine speed is limited to idling speed. When this fault code is active the fuel pressure displayed in the diagnostic tool will be incorrect. This is because the engine control unit always transmits a basic value to the diagnostic tool if it has lost contact with the fuel pressure sensor, irrespective of the actual fuel pressure. For some engine types the fault code cannot be deleted when it is active.
How to fix Scania EME fault code 403?
- Run Safety precautions for the fuel system.
- Check the circuit components, harness-to-component connectors and cable harness.
- Verification Leave the engine idling for up to 30 seconds.
- Check that the fault code has become inactive
- Clear the fault code.
