What does Scania EMS fault code 1618 mean?
The throttle valve reference voltage is too low
What causes Scania DTC 1618?
Short circuit to ground in throttle or battery voltage too low.
How does the system react?
The engine stops or enters fail-safe mode. The engine's torque is reduced to protect the engine.
How to fix Scania EMS fault code 1618?
- Check the component, harness-to-harness connectors and electrical cables.
- Renew the throttle.
Variant 2: Throttle actuator, connection fault
Applies to: EMS10
Detection
The control unit interprets that the throttle actuator has a fault in the connection.
Possible cause
- Cable harness or harness-to-component connector has a connection fault. - The actuator has a connection fault.
How to fix
- Check the actuator cable harness and harness-to-component connectors.
- Renew the actuator.
