Short circuit to battery voltage in potentiometer 2.

How does the system react?

Maximum engine torque is limited. The control unit uses a replacement value.

How to fix Scania EMS fault code 8488?

  1. Check fuses.
  2. Check whether the throttle potentiometers are short-circuited to earth.
  3. Check the function of the throttle.
  4. Renew the throttle unit.
  5. Renew the control unit ME7.
