How to fix Scania EST fault code 553?

  1. Check the motor pump unit voltage supply.
  2. Remove the cover on the electrical connection.
  3. Measure the voltage between the engine’s screw connections and check that it is approximately 24 volts.
  4. Check that the cable harness connections are firmly held in place and are free from corrosion.
  5. Renew the complete cable harness and nut if this is damaged by corrosion.
  6. Renew the electric motor if the voltage supply is not working because the connection is damaged by corrosion.
  7. Check that the cable harness is not damaged.
  8. Renew the electric motor in the motor pump unit.
