What does Scania EEC fault code 4097 mean?
The EEC control unit was not switched off correctly.
What causes Scania DTC 4097?
The battery master switch has been used before the exhaust gas aftertreatment system had finished cooling the components in the reductant circuit.
What are the symptoms?
The components in the reductant circuit can be damaged by the high temperatures during exhaust gas aftertreatment when the engine has been switched off. The aim of SCR post circulation is to make sure that the components have active cooling.
How to fix Scania EEC fault code 4097?

- Advise the driver to always shut the system down using the starter key and not to use the battery master switch while the Aftertreatment system in operation symbol is on in the instrument cluster.
