What does Scania EMS fault code 4097 mean?
The engine speed has been above the permitted level.
What causes Scania DTC 4097?
Incorrect handling, e.g. incorrect downshifting.
How does the system react?
The fuel injection (engine) cuts off when the speed exceeds 3,000 rpm and remains off until the speed falls below 3,000 rpm. The exhaust brake attempts to brake the engine as much as possible. Afterwards the engine functions normally again.
How to fix Scania EMS fault code 4097?
Inform the driver of the risks of engine damage at high rotational speeds.
