What does Scania TMS fault code 276 mean?

The electric motor phases have shorted or have an open circuit.

What causes Scania DTC 276?

- The vehicle's batteries have too low a state of charge. - Fault in the motor control electronics. - Fault in the motor control system, lack of power for quick disconnection. - Torque reduction from engine due to overheating (the coil winding insulation melts or is demagnetised). - Fault in the motor control electronics, one or more phases too short for direct current supply.

How does the system react?

- A yellow warning indication is displayed. - If the vehicle is stationary when the fault occurs: neutral position is activated, which prevents the vehicle from being driven further. - If the vehicle is driving when the fault occurs: the gear continues in locked position. Neutral (N) is activated when the vehicle slows to a stop. This prevents the vehicle from being driven further.

How to fix Scania TMS fault code 276?

1. Charge the batteries and check the battery state of health with a battery tester.
2. For more information, see Multi > 16–25.
3. Renew batteries that are not fully functional.
4. Check the sensors, connectors and cable harness.
5. Check for software updates for the transmission management system (E5), TMS.
6. Check for software updates for the clutch actuator (E93), ECA.
7. Renew the clutch actuator, ECA, if the problem persists.
