What does Scania EMD fault code 136 mean?
Fuel pressure in the accumulator is higher than requested.
What causes Scania DTC 136?
- The fuel inlet metering valve works poorly or is leaking. - Fault with the high pressure pump.
How does the system react?
When this fault code is active, engine power is reduced and the EGR circuit is deactivated. The fault code cannot be cleared when it is active.
What are the symptoms?
There may be abnormally loud combustion noise or engine knock.
How to fix Scania EMD fault code 136?
- Run Safety precautions for the fuel system.
- Check and rectify any fault codes for fuel inlet metering valve V120.
- Run Checking the fuel inlet metering valve.
- Troubleshoot further according to WSM > 03 > 03-95 Troubleshooting and symptoms > 03:95-05 XPI fuel system, Troubleshooting table.
- Renew the high pressure pump.
