What does Scania EMD fault code 217 mean?
The main mirror and wide-angle mirror heater element on the passenger side H3 indicates an implausibly high temperature compared with the main mirror and wide-angle mirror heater element on the driver’s side H2 and the temperature sensor in the intake manifold (T126 or T202).
What causes Scania DTC 217?
- Fault in the main mirror and wide-angle mirror heater element on the passenger side H3. - Fault in the harness-to-component connectors or cable harness of the main mirror and wide-angle mirror heater element on the passenger side H3. - The main mirror and wide-angle mirror heater element on the passenger side H3 has been exposed to abnormally high temperatures compared with the main mirror and wide-angle mirror heater element on the driver’s side H2 and the temperature sensor in the intake manifold (T126 or T202).
How to fix Scania EMD fault code 217?
- Compare the temperature between the main mirror and wide-angle mirror heater element on the passenger side H3, the main mirror and wide-angle mirror heater element on the driver’s side H2 and the temperature sensor in the intake manifold (T126 or T202).
- Check the harness-to-component connectors and cable harness of the main mirror and wide-angle mirror heater element on the passenger side H3.
- Renew the main mirror and wide-angle mirror heater element on the passenger side H3.
- Verification To verify that the fault has been rectified, drive the vehicle at more than 30 km/h for more than 2 minutes.
- If the fault has been rectified, the fault code becomes inactive and can be cleared.
