The fuel pressure in the accumulator drops during engine braking even though no fuel is consumed.

What causes Scania DTC 148?

- External fuel leakage. - Internal fuel leakage. - Fault in the safety valve. - Fault in the fuel inlet metering valve. Note: Reducing the fuel pressure can trigger the fault code. No troubleshooting is required in this case.

How to fix Scania EMD fault code 148?

  1. Run Safety precautions for the fuel system.
  2. Check for external fuel leakage.
  3. Run Fuel leak test.
  4. If the engine does not start: run Plug test – checking for internal leakage using the starter motor.
  5. Run Leak testing the safety valve.
  6. Run Checking the fuel inlet metering valve.
