The MBS control unit fails to detect communication on the brown CAN bus within the set time period.

What causes Scania DTC 547?

- Fault in cable harness to brown CAN bus. - Fault on connector to brown CAN bus. - Fault in one of the control units connected to brown CAN bus.

How does the system react?

- Functions dependent on information from the brown CAN bus are degraded or missing. - A yellow warning indication is displayed.

What are the symptoms?

Electronic roof hatches and the control system for heat generating electrically powered air conditioning (HPAC) are not working correctly.

How to fix Scania MBS fault code 547?

  1. Check the cable harness to the brown CAN bus.
  2. Check the harness-to-harness connector to the brown CAN bus.
  3. Check the harness-to-harness connector for the brown CAN bus on the MBS control unit.
  4. Check the cable harness to the brown CAN bus:
  5. Disconnect the battery.
  6. Measure the resistance between CAN high and CAN low on the CAN bus.
  7. The resistance should be approximately 60 ohm (due to the termination resistors connected in parallel).
  8. Disconnect the battery.
  9. Measure the resistance between CAN high on the MBS control unit and CAN high on another unit connected to the CAN bus.
  10. Resistance should be close to 0 ohms.
  11. Disconnect the battery.
  12. Measure the resistance between CAN low (CN2-2) on the MBS control unit and CAN low on another unit connected to the CAN bus.
  13. Resistance should be close to 0 ohms.
