What does Scania EME fault code 564 mean?

Actual charge air pressure is above the requested charge air pressure by more than the permitted tolerance.

What causes Scania DTC 564?

XPI engine For vehicles with EGR: - Blocked EGR cooler, for example due to coolant leakage or a large quantity of soot. - EGR damper has jammed in the nearly closed position. - The adaptation of the mass flow sensor incorrectly has too high a value due to leakage between the mass flow sensor and compressor. - Incorrect value from mass flow sensor. All vehicles: - Incorrect values from exhaust gas pressure sensor, charge air pressure sensor, charge air temperature sensor. - Fault in the turbocharger, wastegate valve or variable geometry turbocharger control. - Too much fuel injected. - Engine running on engine oil, i.e. leakage. Gas engine: Possible causes: - Solenoid valve for wastegate valve control V109 is damaged or not functioning. - Leakage in the wastegate diaphragm. - The wastegate damper has jammed in the closed position. - Combined sensor T47 indicates an incorrect charge air pressure.

Yellow engine warning indication is displayed.

Can result in increased fuel consumption.

How to fix Scania EME fault code 564?

  1. XPI engine Visually check the EGR cooler using an endoscope.
  2. If there is a fault in the EGR cooler, the cause of the fault must be investigated and rectified.
  3. Check that the EGR valve can move freely and closes properly.
  4. Check the charge air pressure sensor with the ignition on and the engine off.
  5. To check whether there is a fault in the mass flow sensor adaptation:
  6. Check for leaks between the mass flow sensor and the compressor.
  7. Check the exhaust gas pressure sensor, charge air pressure sensor, charge air temperature sensor and mass flow sensor.
  8. Check the turbocharger and its electric motor.
  9. Check for leaks between the turbocharger and the compressor.
  10. Check for other fault codes related to the injectors and rectify them.
  11. Check engine oil consumption.
  12. Gas engine Check solenoid valve V109 for wastegate valve control.
  13. Check the function of the wastegate damper.
  14. Check the combined sensor T47.
