What does Scania LAS fault code 17 mean?

The voltage on the alarm control unit input has been below 3 V.

What causes Scania DTC 17?

The fault can be caused by the following: – Short circuit to ground in the sensor. – Short circuit in the cable harness between the alarm control unit and the sensor.

How does the system react?

The fault code is set when the starter key is turned to the lock position. When the alarm is activated via the remote control, the fault is indicated as follows: – The LED flashes rapidly for 5 seconds. – There is no acknowledgement signal from the siren.

How to fix Scania LAS fault code 17?

  2. Check the sensor, harness-to-harness connector and cable harness.
  3. 2.
  4. Disconnect harness-to-harness connector C303.
  5. 3.
  6. Check that the resistance is infinite when the sensor is open.
  7. 4.
  8. Check that the resistance is 900 – 1,100 ohms when the sensor is closed.
  9. 5.
  10. Check that the voltage on pin C303-1 is higher than 9 V.
  11. If the voltage is too low: check that the cable harness to the alarm control unit is not short-circuited to earth.
  12. 6.
  13. Check that pin C303-2 is connected to earth via the alarm control unit.
