What does Scania BWS fault code 18 mean?
Fault on the CAN communication on the yellow CAN bus.
What causes Scania DTC 18?
There is a short circuit on the yellow CAN bus.
How does the system react?
All communication on the yellow CAN bus is lost. As long as communication is broken, all user functions will be either deactivated or provide only limited functionality. This fault code is not generated if the vehicle has been turned off, i.e. if the starter key is in locked or radio position. The fault code is also not generated in event of an open circuit on the CAN bus. Fault codes 3-8 will be generated instead.
How to fix Scania BWS fault code 18?
- Check the yellow CAN bus as described in the work description for communication problems on the CAN bus.
- Check the connection between the yellow CAN bus and the bodywork control unit.
