What does Scania LAS fault code 38 mean?
No communication or communication interrupted between the siren and the alarm control unit.
What causes Scania DTC 38?
The fault can be due to any of the following: - BBS is locked with a different PIN code. - The siren is not connected. - Short circuit to ground.
How does the system react?
When the alarm is activated via the remote control, the fault is indicated as follows: - The direction indicators flash rapidly. - The LED flashes rapidly for 5 seconds. - There is no confirmation signal from the siren.
How to fix Scania LAS fault code 38?
- If BBS is locked with a deviating PIN code:
- Program the LAS control unit with the same codes as BBS.
- This will allow BBS to be unlocked and emptied of codes.
- If BBS and LAS control unit are locked with the same PIN code:
- Check the siren, connectors and wiring.
- Disconnect connector C78.
- If fault code 36 is generated, renew the siren.
- If fault code 36 is not generated, then the cable or the alarm control unit is probably faulty.
- Check the connection between pin B-10 and pin N9-3, via connector C78-12.
- Check that the voltage on pin B-10 is 12 V.
