What does Scania LAS fault code 65 mean?

CAN messages from the alarm control unit are not confirmed by any other unit on the bus.

What causes Scania DTC 65?

The fault can be caused by the following: - The yellow CAN bus has a major fault - The alarm control unit has been disconnected from the CAN bus. - The battery's main switch breaks the circuit (i.e. the battery circuit is broken).

How does the system react?

The alarm system sends CAN messages when 15 supply is off. The alarm system uses a signal to activate control units which require responses or listen for CAN messages sent from the alarm when it is triggered. If no other control unit is awake when the alarm control unit sends a CAN message, the message is not confirmed and the fault code is set. When the alarm is activated via the remote control, the fault is indicated as follows: - The direction indicators flash rapidly. - The LED flashes rapidly for 5 seconds. - There is no confirmation signal from the siren.

How to fix Scania LAS fault code 65?

  2. Check the harness-to-harness connectors and cabling to the yellow CAN bus and control units.
  3. 2.
  4. Check that pin A-8 (CAN_H, yellow bus) is connected to harness-to-harness connector C481-4.
  5. 3.
  6. Check that pin A-9 (CAN_L, yellow bus) is connected to harness-to-harness connector C481-16.
  7. 4.
  8. Check that pin A-12 (alerting the ICL system) is connected to the ICL system and has a low pulse (1,000 ms) when the alarm system is activated by a fault, for example if a door is open.
  9. 5.
  10. Check that pin B-15 (alerting the visibility system) is connected to the visibility system and has a low pulse (300 ms) when the alarm system is activated, deactivated or triggered.
  11. 6.
  12. Check that pin B-16 (alerting GSM) is connected to the GSM module and has a low pulse (500 ms) when the alarm system is activated, deactivated or triggered.
  13. 7.
  14. Check that pin B-23 (alerting the coordinator) is connected to the coordinator and has a high pulse (500 ms) when the alarm system is activated, deactivated or triggered.
